Fabrizio Nastari (b. 1990) is an Italian composer whose music is characterized by the use of different compositional techniques put at the service of the musical idea. Currently his studies are focused on the one hand on the deepening of the rhetoric of contemporary music in the different existing aesthetics, on the other hand on the development of stylometric analysis as an instrument of quantitative study in tonal and atonal music, both as a possible compositional instrument. The first result of these studies was the composition for classical guitar “Studio – riflessi” presented at the International Dublin Guitar Symposium, based on the stylometric analysis of study n.5 in A minor of work 35 by Fernando Sor.
He began his musical studies on classical guitar and piano and then devoted himself completely to the study of composition. He obtained the diploma Vecchio Ordinamento at the Conservatorio “Ottorino Respighi” in Latina under the guidance of Francesco Antonioni; at the same time he completed the Three-year course in Composition and Choral Conducting and attended the Three-year course in Electroacoustic Composition.
He is currently enrolled in the second year of the Master in Composition course at the Estonian Academy of Music under the guidance of Toivo Tulev, Helena Tulve and Tõnu Korvits.
His music has been performed by important performers such as Livia Rado, Paolo Ravaglia, Mivos Quartet, Indigo Quartet, Estica Woodwind Quintet, Precious String Quartet, Ensemble +47, unassisted fold etc. and has been performed in important European festivals such as “RavennaFestival”, “Estonian Music Days”, “Le forme del suono”, “highSCORE Festival”, “VIPA Festival” and others.
He has attended important masterclasses, seminars and workshops with internationally renowned composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Julia Wolfe, Michael Finnissy, Erki-Sven Tüür, Carlo Boccadoro, Rebecca Saunders, Fabio Vacchi, Ivan Fedele, Richard Causton, Derek Bermel, Amy Kirsten and others.
